(It’s Never Really) Wordless Wednesday: Helping in the Kitchen

You may have heard that I’m into Supernatural. Jay, another friend of mine, dropped me a link to this video of Misha Collins cooking with his son, who is about 18 months younger than Miles. (So, two? Oh my god, I had that whole thought in months, someone please euthanize me.) I feel like crunchy types will most certainly appreciate the way this kid is allowed to experiment and learn.

Meanwhile, I’ve been trying to help Miles be more adventerous with food and to have a good relationship with it. You can see where this is going:

Miles pouring milk in the eggs Scrambling with great concentration Miles, cooking the scrambled eggs Waiting for toast Miles eating the fruit of his labor

He had a blast, and now eggs are pretty much his favorite thing ever. If we’re doing anything in the kitchen, he’s eager to help — so we’re letting him. You should hear his pride — “Daddy, I made dinner! We have chicken!”

We’ll see if the novelty wears off.
